ABOUT
DOM NA DEREVE
Dom na dereve is a project where I compose, record, mix and master all the music. It is a duo of me and my sister Sonya.
‘Мой милый друг‘ is an expression — a very gentle way of referring to a person in Russian — ‘My lovely friend‘. And one of the very striking images in this album is the search for a mysterious friend. A friend from dreams, woods and childhood who has been lost. ‘He is the earth, he is the river, he carries clouds’, there is no clear picture of him, but there is a faith that he’s not far away waiting for us. Understanding that he fades out from our memories, we create a fairy tale where he could live forever — this album is a note to him, a farewell note in a way. At the same time, this friend is each of two children — that’s us — brother and sister. Saying goodbye to this lovely mysterious friend — we deal with our fear of losing each other. We hold hands so we don’t lose each other while running away from our past. We left our home, and we don’t know what is waiting for us in our journey. Sometimes we are lost in the woods, sometimes we are on different sides of the river. But even in times of separation, we know we’ll find each other, and our bond will only grow stronger.

SOLO WORK

Heart, my debut electropop single under the solo project Sasha Paperny, is a personal, heartfelt blend of synthetic keys, warm guitar, and a soft, penetrating vocal. Some have described it as “like listening to a hug.”
In the lyrics, I explore the anxiety before sleep, when you’re left alone with your thoughts and feel a cold creep into your heart. The music, though, contrasts this darkness, pulsing with an energetic yet groovy drive that builds layer by layer, immersing and captivating.
Music is where I express myself freely—it’s my form of revelation. When I sing, I tap into something true and raw within. I feel a tension in myself, a certain resistance that shapes something unique in my music: a fragile freedom on the edge that makes each moment precious.
I aim to create heartwarming music that doesn’t drag you down but resonates deeply, even in dark moments.
Wind in the woods is an instrumental album with eight short pieces.
In fact, the titles of the pieces and their order in the album combined with the cover already serve as a kind of description and clarification. The more I delve into the description, the more I feel like I am lying.
One interesting detail I noticed after the publication is that the titles of all the piano pieces in the album somehow involve people, specifically children: ‘Bedtime story,’ ‘Children’s play,’ ‘A song.’ Meanwhile, the pieces performed by strings and more abstract sound art tracks have names abstracted from human presence: ‘Rustling leaves,’ ‘The wind,’ ‘Clock hands,’ ‘In the highlands,’ ‘Underwater.’
In the album, they are all mixed, giving it texture and uniting the pieces, creating a small story.
SoundCloud
Here are some chamber pieces posted on my SoundCloud. The first three of them are played by a trio of piano, cello and violin, the fourth one has a lot of things mixed in 🙂
SOUND DESIGN/ART
MOTION PICTURE SOUNDTRACK

‘A young man stumbles upon an Abbey where a Mystical Master guides his students in uncovering the secrets of themselves and the world through ancient dances and forgotten wisdom. His life is forever changed by the power of this enigmatic place’.
Music That Captures Motion and Emotion
In composing the music for this film, I aimed to translate its central theme—rotation and its inertia—into sound. I created a pulsating texture, dynamically shifting its amplitude to emphasize the sensation of movement and space. The music remains open and unintrusive, leaving room to breathe while forming repetitive, evolving patterns that establish a rhythmic depth.
At times, this fluidity is intentionally interrupted to highlight the film’s most poignant moments. As the story unfolds, the music gradually gains a sense of flight and emotional weight, culminating in a final release of energy and liberation.
My goal was not just to compose a soundtrack, but to weave sound into the film’s fabric—enhancing its atmosphere and internal motion in a way that feels both natural and immersive.
